Bear Mountain’s trail routes are normally accessed from Highway 385, by way of Medicine Mountain Road and County Road 299 (Bobcat Road). Medicine Mountain Road is 3.3 miles north of Custer, and about 11 miles south of Hill City. Route #1: From Highway 385, go northwest 7.3 miles on County Road 297, which is also named Medicine Mountain Road.
