For quieter enjoyment, the Myrtle Beach area has two state parks and communities where South Carolina's Lowcountry culture thrives.The Boardwalk has a mix of old (The Gay Dolphin Gift Cove has been around since the 1930s) and new (chains like Ripley's, Landshark's, etc.), but the mix makes it feel cheap rather than fun or historical.
