Americans are definitely more 'loyal' to America (I'd say patriotic is a better way to phrase it) but identify with the state that they're from more because different regions of the US are quite different from each other. Cirque du Soleil is pretty spectacular and there's often a big name artist or two at some casino. Off the strip, unusual attractions are the Pinball Hall of Fame, the Neon museum, and the Mob museum. The MGM has a Lion Ranch south of town that I'm told is worth a visit. Yes, it has lions. Same mate jokingly said that it would start WWIII then America would be in big trouble, the American said completely seriously that it doesn't matter as America could take the rest of the world.
